Steven Alan Green started his acting career as a
child. At age five, he booked his first television commercial. He made $35
(£20). Taking a short break for about ten years, Steven got back into “the
acting game” in high school and college productions. After an agent heard his
voice on his answering machine (she was actually calling Steven’s friend
Andrew), Steven was signed up by The Jack Rose Agency in Hollywood. Steven
booked a lead in a Disney Educational short playing a teacher. He also
co-starred in an industrial film with an unknown Conan O’Brien. (what ever
happened to him!) Steven also played “the comedian” in the third instalment
of the B Horror film “Island of the Alive”, which was the second sequel to the
“It’s Alive!” series, a wonderful family film about cannibalistic mutated
killer babies who live on an island. Steven was originally brought in as an
extra, but when the director Larry Cohen asked Steven to do voice over dialog,
Steven asked and got “Taft-Hartley’d” for SAG membership. (note: If you
listen carefully when watching this scene, Steven can be heard saying his own
name!)
After moving to London in
the mid-Nineties, Steven picked up acting work mostly playing Americans. In
one film, “Melody is Her Second Name”, Steven played a television producer.
Quite prophetic as Steven eventually became an actual producer, creating High
On Laughter, a comedy charity show at the London Palladium with 15 stand-ups
and special guest Jerry Lewis. (good thing Steven didn’t play a serial
killer) The show was filmed and broadcast on Bravo UK. (see
