Recorded and produced 4 years ago when I was living @ Kolping House, this very weird and spooky Catholic men’s home near downtown LA (much to write about), I produced a podcast with fake ads. One of those ads was for a phony pharmaceutical product, “Nocturnal Dilemma”. Now. Here’s the very cool and groovy bit. When I was in high school, there were two records me and my friends worshiped. One was The Who’s “Who’s Next,” and me being a rock drummer at the time, well, I LOVED this album. The other was “Don’t Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers”, created by “The Beatles of Comedy”, the incredible Firesign Theatre. Now, this will blow your mind. Years later, when I would become a comedian at The Comedy Store (of all places), somehow I became real life friends with one of The Firesign Theatre’s members! Phil recorded this fake ad for me and, well, here are the results. Perhaps in the top 5 of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Thanks again, Phil!
